Prolock Delta Filter Screen
A filtering anti-piping measure for river levees
The Prolock Delta Filter Screen is used by various water authorities as an anti-piping measure for river levees. It is a further development of the well-known Prolock Delta full-seal screen. The filter screen allows water to pass through but retains sand and other soil particles. As a result, the filter wall does not need to be installed as deeply into the sand layer as a solid wall.
Installed at Salmsteke
Our Delta Filter Screen was implemented in 2024 at Salmsteke, part of Sterke Lekdijk. The Flood Protection Program describes this application as the first proven product innovation within the innovation partnership. The application was preceded by field tests, in which installation methods and areas for improvement were examined.
Suitability for a project is assessed based on the local soil composition, hydraulic conditions, and design requirements.
