1,480 metres of plastic revetment

On behalf of the province of Groningen (the Netherlands), Jelle Bijlsma from Giekerk at Hoofdstraat in Blauwestad is realising a new 1,480 meter long watercourse using Prolock Sigma. The screens are 2,500 mm high and the softwood piles are 5,000 mm high. The top side has been beautifully finished with the Prolock Sigma waling.

The entire structure has a hardwood clamping wale with anchoring. The used ground anchors are of the GSV type (Stienstra & Van der Wal).

The revetment design and the strength calculation were realised by Prolock and InvraPlus Haren who cooperated in this effort.

Once the waterway has been completed, the water level will be increased to the future level. The result is a streamlined wall which will last for many years. Good job by Jelle Bijlsma!
