Revetment of banks without defences

The Frisian Lake Project of the province of Friesland decided to use Prolock for the shoring of banks without defences on the “Turf Route”. The arguments for dchoosing Prolock were the environmentally friendly nature, the installation convenience and to retain the natural appearance of the banks.

The banks are protected from wave action and the vegetation can recover due to the finish with a rubble back. For the lower banks, Prolock Sigma was used in combination with pine wooden piles. For the higher sections, Prolock Omega was used in combination with Cloeziana hardwood. In total, 1,139 metres of Prolock Sigma and 1,421 metres of Prolock Omega were installed.
